The farmers 35 years ago got the disc mower and revolutionized mowing in the farming industry. We in the mowing industry have been using the same blade for the last 70 years.Several things concern me about Meg-Mo blades if I was a pro cutter or put a mower out anywhere besides the "back 40". Harder blades (north of HRc 45) have been exhaustively tested by OEM's and are very difficult to get past the stake test. The swing blade design probably helps blade fracture during impact but I would still be mindful.Rather the top blade cuts the grass higher than you want, then the lower blade cuts it again. ITs like mowing the lawn once, then dropping the deck a notch and mowing it again, just in one pass instead of two. 2. More blades also means more suction if you have a grass that dont like to pop back up after it is ran over.The Meg-mo gives me doubles with a factory setup. Easy to install, no height adjustment necessary. They throw grass at least twice as far as my high-lift blades. Maybe like 5-6+ mower widths. In the open, this is great. They seem like they do a pretty good job of mulching.So the Meg-Mo side looks a lot more uneven. Grass that tall starts to grow in clumps so it's never going to look like a lawn when it's cut short. I'm pretty sure the striping is caused by the swing blades retracting somewhat as the deck clogs with clippings. I have just under 2 acres of grass right now (hydroseeding again in the fall another 3/4 acre), so 2 weeks ago I cut it with the original blades after sharpening them. Results were as expected- lots of long grass discharged, not a great cut. I cleaned under the deck and installed Meg-Mo blades, then cut about a week later.. Random word generator last name
